Everybody Needs to be Compensated Properly, Equitably, & Above Board

image from @evanrosskatz instagram Amanda Seyfried said it best “Everybody needs to be compensated for their work. That’s f*cking easy.” She said this in reference to the recent WGA strikes happening in Hollywood. However, I would like to take her quote and apply it to what I’ve noticed the issues are with how the entertainment industry is ran here in Florida.   After working in the entertainment industry for over 10 years in New York City, I expected some things to be handled differently in Florida but not to the extent that I have witnessed. The biggest issue here is that people are, simply, not compensated for their work.   Let’s start off with, how Florida does not see the value in models. Business owners believe that if they provide you with a free item from, let’s say their restaurant, so a cocktail, that’s enough compensation to use your likeness and image in perpetuity on all mediums and formats. This is so wrong. Modeling is a profession and it should be treated as su...

FITFOO Virgin Atlantic Photos

I told you that when I participated in Virgin Atlantic's FITFOO Promo, they took some photos of me! Well they're here! Take a look! In the first photo, the stewardess wanted to be FunSized, too! Follow me on:   Bloglovin' ,  Twitter ,  YouTube ,  Facebook ,  Instagram .

Virgin Atlantic FITFOO Promotion

Virgin Atlantic Airlines was going around New York City at the beginning of this week, promoting their new ad, FITFOO which stands for Flying in the Face of Ordinary. This was my first example of Real Time marketing. They were tweeting from ( @VAAintheUSA ) with their locations while also reaching out to celebs and different companies to raise more awareness of FITFOO. I am just a FunSized girl and Virgin Atlantic had no issue with coming to the steps of the main United States Post Office on 8th Ave to deliver their FITFOO Fun to me! I didn't know what to expect but to see a red Mini Cooper with the Virgin Atlantic logo! To my surprise, two lovely Virgin Atlantic stewardesses greeted me with a rather large container of Baked By Melissa cupcakes! I was stunned and so grateful! A photographer came along for the ride, who took a ton of pictures that will be on their Facebook page . Wednesday was their last day of FITFOO fun in NYC, they were off to London that evening. ...

Chinatown Restaurant Week

I spent the first day of Spring indulging in Chinatown Restaurant Week in New York City! There are a ton of restaurants to choose from, each with a variety of options on their prix-fixed menus. Some are only for lunch and some only for dinner so make sure you check out all the options on their website and read the fine print too! Each prix-fixed menu is $20.13 a person! I went to H.K. Wonton! We thought it was the best deal with the best options we would enjoy choosing from. They had two different "packages" or menus put together for restaurant week. So I got one and my company got the other so we were able to share and get different dishes. We ended up with so much food! We definitely got our money's worth. Just take a look: Everything was absolutely delicious! The staff was very nice and accommodating! I would definitely go back here even when restaurant week is not going on.  Chinatown Restaurant Week is going on now until March 31st so hurry and pick y...

Outfit of the Day

Let's get a little FunSized Fashion going on! This is what I wore yesterday when we were shooting at Tavern on Third for Best Sports Bar in NYC .  I am a wearing a Joie Marru top in Nile blue. The way this top photographs and looks in person is a bit different. In person, it has more of a purple hue in it. Joie is a great shop! They have multiple locations throughout New York City, and they are also available at Bloomingdales! Along with some Guess Skinny Jeans and Jeffrey Campbell Litas, I was ready for a day in front of the camera. Follow me on:   Bloglovin' ,  Twitter ,  YouTube ,  Facebook .

Best Sports Bar in NYC Episode

MacBar

One of my favorite places to go eat when I'm in the mood for a special treat is MacBar . It is located in Soho on Prince Street between Lafayette and Mulberry. Whenever you're in the mood for great mac and cheese this is the place to go! It is mac and cheese on a whole other level. They make so many different and fun kinds. This week I tried the Cheeseburger Mac for the first time! It can come in three different sizes. I got the small... since I'm FunSized, it was just the perfect amount of food for me (probably a bit too much but that's ok!). Just look at it! Doesn't it look delicious? Well, it was! It was driving me mad on the subway home, smelling its goodness coming from the bag. My favorite part is the top where the cheddar cheese is baked on top. The magarita mac is usually my go-to choice but I'm glad I switched it up with teh Cheeseburger mac. I am dying to try the mac lobsta'! One day I'll get it! F...

Into Spain at Pera Soho

On Wednesday, October 24, 2012, I attended the "Into Spain" Event at Pera Soho . This was my first time going to Pera Soho and I was stunned by its ambiance and exclusiveness. Pera is located at the corner of Broome and Thompson Streets.  As I was walking there, heading west on Broome Street, it was a bit of a puzzle to find the entrance. When I almost approached the corner, you get a bit of a tease of what you are about to see since there is a small peephole into the restaurant until you are blocked by what is a large cement wall that wraps around the corner. Finally the opening appeared on Thompson Street! I was astonished by what I saw next...That cement wall was blocking what is a gorgeous and secluded outdoor seating area with large red umbrellas, wooden furniture as well as private seating areas. I wish I would have known about this restaurant during the summer! Then I continued inside for the event. When you first walk in the bar is right in front of you, ...
